Over the years, we have cultivated a thriving farming business that balances sustainable agriculture with a commitment to animal welfare and quality products.
Waverley Farming has been a family-owned operation since 1991 when Hartmut and Brigitte Kretzschmar purchased the farm, beginning a journey rooted in hard work, passion, and a deep connection to the land and its livestock.
Hartmut and Brigitte raised two sons, Gunnar and Holger, on Waverley, where they were continuously integrated into the farming activities from a young age. The brothers learned the values of hard work, responsibility, and respect for the land, which have shaped their approach to farming today. Together, they contributed to the farm’s growth, ensuring that every aspect of the operation reflected the dedication their parents instilled in them.
In January 2024, the next generation joined the farm, as Gunnar, along with his wife Mirja and daughter Yana, became an integral part of Waverley Farming. While Holger has taken a step back to pursue other endeavors, he continues to return home occasionally and remains deeply interested in the daily operations, offering his insight and support whenever needed. Gunnar continues to build on the legacy of his parents.
